FIRE CHIEF
Chief Jonathan Kanzigg, Midway Fire District
September of 2008, Chief Jonathan Kanzigg was
appointed Fire Chief of the Midway Fire District by the Board of
Fire Commissioners. Chief Kanzigg has lived in the Midway area for
all of his life. He entered the fire service in 1992 when he joined
the Midway Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter/EMT. He worked
for the City of Mary Esther Fire Department from 1993 to 1994 where
he was promoted to Engineer before leaving to go work for the City
of Mobile Fire Rescue Department. He worked for Mobile Fire Rescue
from 1994 to 2003. Chief Kanzigg was promoted to Driver in 2000. He
was hired by Midway Fire District in 2003 as a Lieutenant ,
Battalion Chief in September of 2007 and Fire Chief in 2008.

STANDARDS & CONTINUING EDUCATION
Lt. Lou Jones, Midway Fire District
In
January 1997, Lt. Jones began his career at the age of 20 years old
as a volunteer with the Pensacola Beach Fire Dept. In August 1999,
he accepted a position with NAS Pensacola Fire Dept, where he
obtained his EMT certification. While working with NAS, Lt. Jones
excelled as an EMT with Escambia County EMS. In January 2002, Lt.
Jones transitioned over to work with Midway Fire District, and was
promoted to Lieutenant in April 2005. Lieutenant Jones completed an
AAS Degree in Fire Science in 2002. Lieutenant Jones is currently a
Paramedic, and holds Fire Officer I, Instructor I, Live Fire
Instructor I, Pump Operator, and is a CPR Instructor for AHA. In
Spring of 2006, Lieutenant Jones successfully pursued a Training
Center certification for Midway Fire District.

DIRECTOR, EMT ACADEMY
Firefighter/Paramedic James Skipper, Midway Fire District
Firemedic James Skipper began his fire experience in 1997 while
serving in the United States Navy. Firemedic Skipper was assigned
to Crash Fire and Rescue while stationed at Marine Corps Air Station
Cherry Point, North Carolina. Firemedic Skipper was released from Active duty in
Dec 2000 and joined the Naval Reserves. In March of 2003, James was
recalled to active duty and assigned to 1st Marine Division and
Deployed to Iraq for 8 months. Firemedic Skipper became a
Nationally Registered EMT in 1996, then a Nationally Registered and
Florida Certified Paramedic in 2001. In 2005 James started his
career with Midway Fire District and is assigned to Engine 37 on
B-shift. Firemedic Skipper holds several certifications to include
Haz-Mat Tech, Advanced Haz-Mat Life Support, Fire Instructor I, Live
Fire Instructor I, ACLS, PALS and CPR Instructor. Firemedic Skipper
is also the Program Director for the Midway Fire District's EMT Program.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Lt. Stephen Boothe, Escambia County Fire-Rescue
Lt. Stephen D. Boothe has
served 16 years as a career Firefighter with Escambia County Fire
Rescue. Lt. Boothe worked at NAS Pensacola Fire Dept for 7yrs before
employment with ECFR. Lt. Boothe currently holds an A.A.S. in Fire
Science, Florida Fire Officer 2 and Fire Service Instructor 2. He
is a member of the Task Force 104 ECFR Special Operations, and has
been teaching basic Fire Standards and various other fire service
courses for 8 years.

Battalion Chief Larry Brewer, Midway Fire District
Chief Brewer
began his career as a volunteer firefighter in 1998, and is currently a Battalion
Chief with the Midway Fire District. He holds Live Fire
Instructor II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Hazmat Tech
and Pump Operator certifications through the State of Florida.
He is a member of Florida Task Force
#102 and holds Technician level certifications in Rope Rescue
and Confined Space. B/C Brewer is married to his wife Priscilla, they
have two children, Sydney and Brooks. They reside in Gulf Breeze
Florida.

Lt. Adam Harrison, Escambia County Fire-Rescue
Lt. Adam Harrison
began his fire service career in 1992 by joining the Pensacola Beach
Volunteer Fire Department, where he was promoted to captain and
remained until 1996. In 1996 Adam was hired by NAS Pensacola Fire
Department where he stayed until 2001. In 2001 Adam joined Escambia
County Fire Rescue as a firefighter and was promoted to Lieutenant
in 2003. Lt. Harrison is a state certified FF I & II, State
certified EMT, Pump Operator, Fire Service Instructor, Live Fire
Instructor and Technician/Team Leader with the county's USAR Team.
Lt. Harrison assists in teaching the FF I & II programs for the
Pensacola Junior College and Midway Fire Academy. Lt. Harrison also
took an active role in teaching FD Training networks R.I.T. program
to Escambia County Fire Rescue's finest.

Lt. Joel Richardson, Pensacola Fire Dept.
Firefighter Richardson is a Professional Firefighter
with the City of Pensacola. He has been employed for 5 years and has
been involved in the fire service for 10 total years. Firefighter
Richardson holds a A.A.S. in Fire Science from Pensacola Junior
College, Live Firefighter Instructor I, Fire Service Instructor I,
and EMT certification for the State of Florida.

Battalion Chief Shannon Stone, Ft. Walton Beach Fire Dept
A.S. Degree in Emergency Medical Services, A.S. Degree in Fire

Live Fire Instructor, FUSAR-High angle rope, confined space, trench
certified, Special Ops Liaison for the Okaloosa County Special
Operations Team, Paramedic since 1997, (EMT since 1991), 2nd
generation FF, started as a career FF in 1990, Wife (Karen) & three
children residing in Navarre.

Lt. Chris Stimmell, Midway
Fire District
Lt. Chris Stimmell has been in
emergency services for over 6 years and has been employed by
Midway Fire District for 5 years. Chris Stimmell was promoted
to Lieutenant back in April
of 2007. Lieutenant
Stimmell completed an A.A.S Degree in Fire Science
2008. Lieutenant Stimmell is currently a Florida Paramedic, and
holds certifications in Fire Officer I, Instructor I, Pump
Operator, Hazmat technician, Fire Investigator I. He is a
member of Florida Task Force #102 and holds Operation level
certifications in Rope Rescue, Confined Space, Trench rescue,
and Extrication. Lt. Stimmell is married they have one daughter,
and another child due in July 2009.

Fire Chief Ron Norton, Holley-Navarre Fire District
Chief Norton hails from
upstate New York where he began his career in 1981, he is a
second generation firefighter with over 27 years on the
job. Currently Ron is the Assistant Chief of the Holley-Navarre
Fire District where he has been employed since 2002. He is
a Retired United States Air Force Firefighter serving 21 years
and reaching the rank of Assistant Chief of Operations. He holds
national certifications as Fire Officer 4, Instructor 3 and as
an EMT. He is a Florida State certified firefighter, Instructor
I and Live Fire Instructor I.
